Deadmau5’s Mumbai concert cancelled due to VIP visit to the city

Canadian producer Deadmau5’s concert, which was scheduled to take place on July 12 in Mumbai, has been cancelled. However, due to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the city, the event has been cancelled.
Deadmau5 primarily produces progressive house and electro-house music, although he also produces and mixes other genres of electronic music, including techno.
He has received six Grammy nominations for his work.
The show’s organizers, Sunburn, have announced the cancellation of the concert.
They said, “The Hon’ble Prime Minister of India is visiting the city on the scheduled date of the event and hence the scheduled venue is no longer available as per the guidelines issued by the competent authorities.”
Deadmau5, who last visited India as part of a three-city tour at Sunburn Arena in March 2014, was scheduled to perform at Nesco Centre in Mumbai’s Goregaon area.
Organizers said all tickets will be fully refunded.
They also said they would work “to try to find an opportunity to bring Deadmau5 back to India soon.” (IANS)
