Woman seriously injured after being stuck in auger near Tremonton

A woman got stuck in an auger, seriously injuring her lower limbs.

The Box Elder County Sheriff’s Office said it received a call about a “farm accident” shortly after 7:15 p.m. Monday in Fielding, north of Tremonton.

A 54-year-old woman is believed to have become stuck in an auger, a tool used to drill holes in fence posts.

The wire from the farm fence had become tangled in the auger and caught the woman, dragging her inside.

Deputies said she suffered serious injuries to her lower limbs, including two broken legs.

A leg was almost amputated.
