New Orleans sees flights canceled due to Beryl | News

Several flights at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport have been delayed or canceled as Tropical Storm Beryl rages across Texas.

The airport’s website says at least four flights from Houston to New Orleans have been canceled, while six flights from New Orleans to Houston were canceled as of 1:50 p.m. Monday.

All 10 flights are from Southwest Airlines or United Airlines, according to the website. A United Airlines representative said Monday that its operations at Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport have been suspended until 4 p.m. “conditions permitting.”

The cancellations come as thousands of attendees of this weekend’s Essence festival head home.

Erin Burns, a spokeswoman for the airport, advised customers to check with their airlines regularly for the most up-to-date flight information.
