In a recent interview with Heavy, an Australian channel, EYESHAINEGOD singer Mike IX Williams He was asked if he and his bandmates had started working on the 2021 sequel. “A History of Nomadic Behavior” He said: “We’ve just been touring a lot, but I know these guys are writing new stuff. I think they’ve got some stuff in the works, but nothing fully formed yet. It always takes us a long time between albums to finish the next one. It took a long time between the last two albums, and it still does. But we’ll get something out eventually. We’re definitely writing.”

When the interviewer suggested that GOD IN THE EYES the albums are always of quality because they are not rushed, Mike “Well, that’s part of it,” he said. “That’s what I like to tell people. It’s like we’re not one of those bands that goes on tour and then goes into the studio and writes. We like to take our time writing and sit with them. That way you can sit with the songs for a while and you get to know them better. And if you start not liking them, you can change something when you go into the studio. So it’s good to sit with them like that.”

In March 2021, EYESHAINEGOD released his first new full-length album in seven years, “A History of Nomadic Behavior”via Century Media RecordingsThe LP was produced by EYESHAINEGOD, Sanford Parker (LOUT, Voivode) And James Whitten (YOU, IN FIRE), with mixing by WhitenThe group recorded at HighTower Registration And Hypercube studios. The LP artwork was created by Gary Mader And Mike IX Williams.

Williams “We’re not a political band, but it was hard not to be affected by the (pandemic) news of the last year. During this recording, I thought a lot about the stupidity of humanity and how America is now completely divided with these people who don’t believe in science and blindly follow liars and absurd ideologies. Some of these feelings may have found their way into these songs, but they are mostly subliminal.”

“A History of Nomadic Behavior” followed a period which saw EYESHAINEGOD on the road for three years, preceded by Williams suffering from liver failure and a transplant. “We toured like crazy for three years and that’s when “A History of Nomadic Behavior” comes essentially from,” Williams Before discussing his health problem, he said: “Death is part of life, it’s a roll of the dice. Sometimes you take life as it comes, other times you fight to stay alive.”

EYESHAINEGODThe previous album, self-titled, was released in 2014. It arrived a decade and a half after its predecessor, the one from the 2000s. “Confederation of Ruined Lives”.

EYESHAINEGOD1990s “In the name of suffering” and 1993 “To be taken as needed for pain” The studio albums are considered their flagship works and are often cited as pillars of the American sludge sound alongside ACID BATH, BUZZOV*FR And CROWBAR.
