Bear found wandering Colorado neighborhood

HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. (KKTV) – Douglas County Sheriffs were called to a Highlands Ranch home due to a bear in the neighborhood.

Douglas County sheriffs said around noon Monday, a bear was entering garages, climbing fences and rummaging through trash cans in a Highlands Ranch neighborhood.

Officers observed the bear from a distance while keeping residents at a distance until Colorado Parks and Wildlife arrived.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife officials were able to safely relocate the bear and plan to release it so it can play in a more wildlife-friendly area.
