Television actor Nitin Chauhaan, known for his role in reality shows Dadagiri 2 and MTV Splitsvilla 5, passed away on November 7 at the age of 35 at his apartment in Mumbai. The news of his death was confirmed by his former co-stars and friends. According to their stories, the actor committed suicide.

The news of Chauhaan’s sudden death has sent shockwaves through the industry. Chauhaan’s co-star from the 2022 show Tera Yaar Hoon Main Vibhuti Thakur shared a heartbreaking message for the actor. The actress shared a black and white picture of herself posing with Chauhaan in her stories, “Rest in peace my love. I’m really shocked and sad. I wish you had the strength to face all the problems. I wish you were mentally strong, just like your body.”

Actor Ssudeep Sahir also mourned his death on Instagram. He shared a picture of Chauhaan and wrote, “Rest in peace friend.”

Speaking to Times of India, one of Chauhaan’s close friends Kuldeep confirmed the news and said, “We heard about Nitin’s death this morning when his father and sister contacted us and told us that he had committed suicide. We are equally shocked because he was planning to come to Delhi next month and we had plans to visit Khatu Shyam ji’s temple together.”

The 35-year-old actor is survived by his father and sister.

Originally from Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, Chauhaan rose to popularity after winning the reality show Dadagiri 2. Later, he appeared in several other shows including MTV’s Splitsvilla 5 and episodic series such as Zindagi Dot Com and Crime Patrol. He last appeared in the TV show Tera Yaar Hoon Main in 2022 alongside Vibhuti and Ssudeep Sahir, which premiered on SAB TV. The actor has also appeared in a few episodes of Saavdhaan India and Gumraah: End of Innocence.
