Cuyahoga County employee injured in carjacking on county property

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – A Cuyahoga County employee was injured in a carjacking in an employee parking lot, according to county spokesperson Jennifer Ciaccia.

On Oct. 24, a female county employee was physically removed from her vehicle at gunpoint, Ciaccia said in an email.

Her car was parked in an employee parking lot on Euclid Avenue.

Ciaccia said the woman “suffered multiple injuries.”

According to Ciaccia, the stolen car was recovered last week.

Detectives believe the group of men involved in this carjacking is responsible for additional stolen cars and burglaries on both county properties and in the city of Cleveland, according to an email sent to Ciaccia.

This case remains under investigation by the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Department.
