UPMC opens new lung and pulmonary clinic in central Pa.

A new clinic has opened in Perry County.

UPMC Pulmonary Clinic opened Monday at 300 Bretz Court in Howe Township, near Newport.

The clinic treats people suffering from conditions such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, chronic cough and other types of lung diseases.

“UPMC is committed to making specialty care accessible to our entire community,” Erik Toth, vice president, thoracic and pulmonary services, UPMC of Central Pa., said in a news release. “By bringing expert pulmonary care to Perry County and surrounding areas, we are fulfilling a promise to bring life-changing medicine to the most rural communities we serve.”

Providers at the clinic are Drs. Santhosh John or Taj Rahman.

The clinic is open twice a month on Mondays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m
