Teen pedestrian seriously injured in hit-and-run in Huntsville

A teenager was taken to Huntsville Hospital Wednesday morning with serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle.

Huntsville Police Capt. Tony McElyea said the incident happened at the intersection of Weatherly Road and Cannstatt Drive.

The vehicle involved left the scene before officers could arrive.

Police have not yet released the name of the victim.

The intersection was closed Wednesday morning while officers investigated.

McElyea said deputies located the vehicle and its owner, and investigators are trying to determine who was driving the vehicle at the time of the incident.
