Chase’s Biggest Offer Ever: Earn 120,000 Points with Ink Business Preferred

I receive compensation for the content and many links on this blog. Citibank is an advertising partner of this site, as are American Express, Chase, Barclays, and Capital One. All opinions expressed in this article are my own and have not been reviewed, approved, or endorsed by my advertising partners. I do not write about every credit card available, but rather focus on miles, points, and cash back (and the currencies that can be converted to those same cards). Terms apply to the offers and benefits listed on this page.

A year ago, the Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card launched a 100,000-point introductory bonus, which has since been the best credit card offer ever. Now, Chase has surpassed it and I believe this is the best credit card offer Chase has ever offered, across all products.

  • Earn 120,000 bonus points after spending $8,000 on purchases in the first 3 months of account opening.
  • That’s $1,200 cash back or $1,500 toward travel when redeemed through Chase TravelSM – and in my opinion, it’s even more valuable when used to transfer to partners like Hyatt, United and others.

Park Hyatt Saint Kitts

This is the biggest offer I’ve ever seen for a Chase Ultimate Rewards card, and the spending requirements haven’t even increased (in fact, until just over a year ago, the smallest offer required a $15,000 spend within 3 months, which deterred many people from considering it).

I successfully applied for the card with the 100,000 points offer. 120,000 points is huge.

Plus, the Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card may be Chase’s best rewards card, pound for pound.

It doesn’t offer a Priority Pass membership (I have several with other cards), but it does have a $95 annual fee…not $350 to $700. The Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card has a low annual fee, a great introductory offer, and you still get triple points on the first $150,000 spent each year on travel (similar to the Sapphire Reserve) and shipping purchases; internet, cable, and phone services; and ad purchases on social media sites and search engines, too.

Many readers can and probably should get a business card. It’s one of the things you should do when starting your business because it allows you to separate business expenses from personal expenses and strengthens your business’s credit history and identity.

Here are 12 things I love about the new Ink Business Preferred:

  1. 120,000 Points Sign-Up Bonus Earn 120,000 bonus points after spending $8,000 on purchases in the first 3 months of account opening. As you’ll see below, that can even be more than enough for a round-trip business class ticket between the U.S. and Europe. In fact, it can be almost enough for two round-trips! (Chase points are very valuable because they’re directly transferable to various airlines and hotels.)
  2. 3 points per dollar on travel

Chase points are one of the most valuable currencies and you’ll earn 3 points per dollar on your travel: airlines, hotels, rental cars, tolls and even Uber.

  3. 3 points per dollar on shipping and social media and search engine advertising

This is a great idea for anyone who advertises on Facebook or Twitter, or spends money on Google ads. And those bills add up quickly. Earning three times the points on that spend will really give you a big boost.

  4. $150,000 spending cap on bonus categories

Chase offers Ink cards that cap category bonus spending at lower amounts. Being able to continue to spend heavily with this card is a great move by Chase to encourage not just small spending, but big spending through the product, and to keep you earning big bonus points.

  5. Protection against theft or damage for your mobile phone. Covers theft or damage to you and your employees listed on your monthly cell phone bill when you pay with your Chase Ink Business Preferred credit card. Up to 3 claims in a 12-month period with a $100 deductible per claim.

Now I had my cracked cell phone screen covered when I paid for it with my Chase Sapphire Preferred card – but it was purchase protection, the screen cracked shortly after I bought the phone.

  6. You can get more than one Ink Business Preferred card if you have more than one business.

Of course, Chase won’t approve this option for everyone. They’ll consider how much credit they want to extend to you. But they don’t limit you to just one card if you have multiple businesses.

  7. Ultimate Rewards Shopping Center

Extra points for your online purchases with access to the Chase Ultimate Rewards Mall, a miles-earning shopping portal that often offers the most lucrative opportunities to earn extra points for online purchases you’d make anyway.

Here are Chase’s points transfer partners:

  • Star Alliance: Air Canada Aeroplan, United Airlines MileagePlus, Singapore Airlines
  • Team Sky: Air France KLM Flying Blue, Virgin Atlantic Aeroclub
  • one world: British Airways Executive Club, Iberia Plus
  • Non-alliance: Emirates Skywards, JetBlue TrueBlue, Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards, Aer Lingus Aer Club
  • Hotel: IHG One Rewards, Marriott Bonvoy, World of Hyatt

British Airways Business Class

Air Canada and Air France are my two favorite airline programs here, though Iberia lets you redeem business class awards from Northeast to Madrid for just 34,000 points per passenger each way. Hyatt is the only hotel partner worth transferring to, but it’s also a better option than you’ll find with American Express.

Historically “5/24 limits” have been applied to the map. Not surprisingly, there are cards that Chase won’t give to some people who have had 5 or more new cards in the last 24 months. However, getting this card doesn’t seem like a Add to you are 5/24 in total.
