An overnight fire in Rancho Mirage has left one person dead

A fire at a home in Rancho Mirage late Thursday night claimed the life of one person, according to a local report.

The fire was reported to Cal Fire at 11:16 p.m. Thursday. When firefighters arrived on scene, they described the fire as “fully involved,” which typically means a complete loss. KESQ reported that one person had died in the fire, although a Cal Fire representative could not confirm the death as of 7:30 a.m. Friday.

The fire occurred in the 36800 block of Patricia Park Place. Detectives were still on scene Friday morning and are expected to provide more information within hours.

A total of five engines, one truck and a medical unit responded to the fire.
