This is the moment a masked gang burst into a computer shop and fired a shotgun at terrified staff.

CCTV footage shows the four men carrying out their daring heist at City Computers Smethwick, West Midlands last year.

Two staff members were inside and suffered non-life-threatening injuries, including a gunshot wound to the arm and a wound to the neck.

Three members of the gang plus two other men involved have already been jailed, while a sixth, Azeem Hussain, was sentenced to eight years in prison at Worcester Crown Court yesterday.

The 26-year-old, who admitted firearms offenses at an earlier hearing, fled to Pakistan after the incident but was arrested when he returned to Britain in April.

Footage from the raid, which took place on January 12, 2023, shows a Ford Fiesta pulling up outside the store before four men jump from the vehicle.

One man shoots the gun at a closed door before opening it and entering a back office.

Two of the intruders then suddenly run out of the room and towards their getaway vehicle, while their accomplices continue to vandalize the store.

CCTV footage from the previous day showed the gang exploring the route from their addresses to the areas surrounding the store.

West Midlands Police said there had also been numerous phone calls between the gang on the morning of the terrifying attack.

Three members of the gang were jailed last August. Haider Shabir, 21, received 14 years, Mohammed Uwais Latif, 24, was imprisoned for nine years and 10 months and Mohammed Tayyib Wajid, 26, was sentenced to 21 months.

In April, Ahmed Aumair, 21, was sentenced to 12 years and six months in prison

Jamal Hussain, 22, was sentenced to nine years and two months in September.

Detective Inspector Francis Nock, from the force’s serious crime unit, said: ‘All six men involved in this planned armed attack have been convicted.

‘Azeem Hussain played a key role in this operation and has been given long prison sentences as a result.

‘This could easily have been a fatal attack, but miraculously the injuries to the two victims were not serious.

“Guns have no place on our streets and we will continue to bring to justice those who think it is acceptable to use them to bring violence into our communities.”
