Novak Djokovic showed his class by congratulating Carlos Alcaraz ahead of their Wimbledon final rematch on Sunday after beating Lorenzo Musetti in their semi-final clash.

Djokovic’s unbeaten streak at Wimbledon ended last year against 20-year-old Alcaraz in an all-time classic on Centre Court.

Tennis fans will be treated to the second chapter of the Wimbledon rivalry on Sunday after Djokovic beat Lorenzo Musetti to reach his 10th Wimbledon final.

Alcaraz, for his part, had to face Frances Tiafoe in the third round to get back on his feet, after looking a little rusty early on.

But both players were well-oiled machines in each of their semi-finals, with Alcaraz holding off No. 5 seed Daniil Medvedev despite losing the first-set tie-break.

In the other match, Musetti showed flashes of what helped him reach a Grand Slam semi-final for the first time in his career.

But Djokovic was on another level to the 22-year-old as he advanced to his 36th major final.

“He’s a great example of someone who, as a young player, has a well-balanced life on and off the court,” Djokovic said.

“Great values in his family, a lot of charisma, he behaves very well on and off the pitch with a smile and that’s why people love him.

“He fully deserves to be one of the best 21-year-olds we’ve ever seen in the game and we’re going to see a lot of him in the future.

“He’s going to win a lot of other Grand Slams, but maybe not this one, hopefully.
