Terrence Shannon dominated his NBA Summer League debut

You can’t get a better start to your professional career than this.

After being selected by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round of the NBA Draft, Terrence Shannon Jr. is already showing his dominance in his first action with the team.

Shannon finished his Summer League debut with a game-high 25 points on 9-of-14 shooting in an 81-74 win over the New Orleans Pelicans. He also recorded 3 rebounds, 2 blocks and 1 steal in 27 minutes of play.

In typical Shannon style, Shannon scored his first professional basket by dominating the ball. In the first quarter alone, Shannon scored 8 points and made 2-of-2 shots and 3-of-3 shots.

He finished the game with four dunks and made 6 of 8 free throws. Shannon showed explosive speed in transition and was clearly voted the game’s MVP.

With the game airing on ESPN2, those who weren’t already familiar with Shannon are now well acquainted with the 23-year-old rookie. After a run to the Elite Eight with the Illini, he’s now looking to contribute to a Timberwolves team that just made the Western Conference Finals.

As a reminder, TSJ nearly managed to sneak into the second round at No. 27 overall. After just one game, he’s already started making his case for stealing the 2024 NBA Draft.

Shannon will look to continue his dominance this Sunday when Minnesota takes on the Indiana Pacers at 4:30 p.m. on NBATV.
