Jarrett ‘JT’ Thomas announces departure from Southern Charm ahead of season 10

Jarrett “JT” Thomas makes a sudden exit Southern charm.

On November 8, JT took his Instagram to announce the news in a lengthy statement. JT explained that he would be leaving the reality show immediately, despite filming continuing for season 10, and hinted that his time on the Bravo hit had not been fun.

‘It is with pain in my heart to tell you that I have resigned Southern charm‘ he wrote. ‘Yesterday I informed Bravo that I will not be participating in the 2-3 remaining green room interviews left before szn 12/5 airs (I’ve done about ~9 so far leading up to today) and that I no longer wish to participate in the progress of the TV program in any way.”

He concluded: “I’ll leave it at that for now… as I work on the next steps to recover both physically and mentally from an extremely challenging and exhausting year.”

A Bravo rep had no comment when reached by PEOPLE.

Fans speculated about the unexpected departure in the comments section, with some wondering if there were any conflicts with co-stars Austen Krol And Shep Rose had something to do with it. Others offered words of encouragement for Thomas.

‘You are a gentleman. It hasn’t gone unnoticed ,” someone commented.

One user said: “Aww damn! Understand that you come first, the show is so secondary in your life.. I selfishly enjoyed your throwback to the same old rhetoric.. I wish you the best!! ”

JT joined Southern charm in season 9, which ended with a clash between him and Austen after JT confessed his feelings for Shep’s ex, Taylor Ann Green, who Kroll had been working on it recently.

At the final party, after Taylor revealed that she did not have the same feelings for JT, he became bitter towards Austen.

After a snarky exchange between the two, JT shouted, “You raped (Shep’s) girlfriend!” at Austen, who pushed him off the bar stool, sparking a physical fight.

Production tried to break things up and JT promised Austen, “I’ll never see you again.”

In the official description of what viewers can expect from JT in the upcoming season 10, it looks like he’s on the road with more than just Austen.

“JT remains an outspoken troublemaker, causing controversy wherever he goes,” it said. “Despite his best intentions, his relationship with many in the group begins to go up in flames. However, Venita proves to be his constant, providing a shoulder to lean on as he tries to repair friendships.

It continued, “After breaking up with her boyfriend Manny last year, Venita realizes that she and JT have an undeniable attraction and connection that runs deeper than most. She begins to question her feelings towards him, while maintaining her own friendships with those who may not be him. on best terms with.”
