Bismarck Animal Control Offers Pet Sleepovers

Bismarck Animal Control Offers Pet Sleepovers

BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) – Bismarck Animal Control is near capacity for dogs.

The building is home to about 30 cats and dogs.

Because they are fully booked, the staff is offering people 48-hour sleepovers with the animals.

This allows potential owners to see if the pet is a good fit for them and has found its forever home.

Adoption paperwork must be completed before bringing them home, and people can keep them or take them home.

An appointment and background check are required.

Furry Friends Rockin’ Rescue currently repairs, vaccinates and microchips all animals adopted from Animal Control for free.

“It’s good for the community and it’s good for the animals because it gives people a chance to see if a pet will be a good fit for their family or not, and it gives the animals a chance to get out and maybe find their new home,” said Logan Woodcock, community service officer and animal caretaker.

Animal Control is open Monday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
