Texans Star Wide Receiver Nico Collins returns to practice for Lions Game

Week 10 of the NFL season is quickly approaching as game statuses are released across the league ahead of a business slate of games on Sunday. The Houston Texans play a primetime game against the 7-1 Detroit Lions.

Despite nine games, the Texans are 6-3, including having lost two of their last three games. Apparently they’ve been struggling with superstar wide receiver Nico Collins sidelined on Injured Reserve. However, he has missed his four games and is eligible to return.

On Wednesday, Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans had a fairly simple update on Collins’ injury.

“(Collins) is doing well,” Ryans said. “We’ll see where he ends up.”

The superstar wideout showed up at practice on Friday, with his 21-day practice window now open. He must return from Injured Reserve. Collins has been sidelined since Week 5 against the Buffalo Bills.

With 32 receptions on the season, Collins has 567 yards and three touchdowns during his fourth season in the NFL. A return to the primetime match against the Lions appears unlikely with his return to training taking place so late in the week, although it is certainly encouraging that he is back on the grid with the squad.
