group A

Queen of the South v Aberdeen: (late kick-off)

Dumbarton 1-1 East Kilbride (2-4 pens): The Lowland League champions secured the bonus point after a penalty shootout draw against their League One hosts.

A David Watson own goal gave the visitors the lead in the first half, but Kalvin Orsi equalised shortly after.

Group B

Falkirk 2-0 Dundee United: After a fairly even first half, the home side deservedly took the lead when midfielder Dylan Tait scored from a corner before striker Ross MacIver rose to head home a cross from the back.

Stenhousemuir 4-0 Buckie Thistle: Matthew Aitken opened the scoring for the League Two champions and Ross Taylor followed with a second goal just before half-time.

Michael Anderson scored three early in the second half and followed up with another to make it two and complete a comfortable win over the Highland League champions.

Group C

Elgin City 0-5 Hibernian: A brace from striker Vente gave Premier League side Hibs half-time control against their League Two hosts.

Former Blackpool centre-back Marvin Ekpiteta scored on his debut before winger Martin Boyle and Vente completed the scoring.

Peterhead 0-5 Queen’s Park: The Championship visitors were also easy winners, with Zak Rudden taking just 30 minutes to open his account hours after the striker signed for the Glasgow side following his exit from Dundee.

Their new signing from Inverness Caledonian Thistle, Roddy MacGregor, doubled the lead on the hour mark and his midfield team-mates Zach Mauchin and Liam McLeish also found the back of the net before an added-time own goal from Jason Brown.

Group D

Bonnyrigg Rose Athletic 1-7 Dundee: Dundee were unleashed in the first half, with striker Main scoring twice either side of goals from centre-back Antonio Portales and midfielder Lyall Cameron.

Ryan Astley, Cameron and Main added to the lead while Smart Osadolor briefly reduced the deficit to 6-1.

Annan Athletic 1-0 Inverness Caledonian Thistle: Cash-strapped Caley Thistle’s woes continued after relegation as they were knocked out by one of this season’s League One rivals thanks to striker Tommy Goss’ early goal.

Group E

Forfar Athletic 0-2 Livingston: The Premiership’s relegated side had to wait until just after half-time before Liam Sole broke the tie against their League Two hosts.

Robbie Muirhead’s goal two minutes from time secured all three points.

Spartans 0-3 Dunfermline Athletic: Livingston’s league rivals were slow to build on striker Lewis McCann’s early goal against their fourth-tier hosts.

It was only when Kane Ritchie-Hosler added the second with eight minutes remaining that they could breathe easier and Taylor Sutherland added the third.

Group F

Brechin City 1-2 St Johnstone: The Premiership visitors needed a Graham Carey penalty just before half-time to overcome the Highland League hosts.

New captain Kyle Cameron, the centre-back signed on loan from Notts County, doubled the lead on his debut but a John Moreland reply made for a nervy end to the game for the Premier League side.

East Fife 3-0 Greenock Morton: Trouten scored twice in the first half, the second from the penalty spot, to put the Ligue 2 side on course for a comfortable victory and the veteran attacking midfielder completed his hat-trick after the break.

Group G

Motherwell 3-0 Edinburgh City: Debutant Kofi Balmer kicked off the Premiership side’s game against their fourth-tier visitors.

Dan Casey scored the second goal shortly after the break before a third defender, Stephen O’Donnell, completed the scoring.

Partick Thistle 3-2 Montrose: Ben MacIver-Redwood surprised the Championship hosts when he put League One side Montrose ahead early in the first half but Aaron Muirhead equalised before the break.

Kyle Turner gave Thistle the lead early in the second half, Ben Hermiston equalised for the visitors but veteran striker Brian Graham scored the winner in the 75th minute.

Group H

Stranraer 1-3 Ross County: Premiership visitors Ross County secured a comfortable victory thanks to striker Jordan White opening the scoring in the 10th minute and following up with a second goal in the 32nd minute.

Stranraer pulled one back through Deryn Lang, but striker Eamonn Brophy scored the county’s third soon after.

Stirling Albion 0-3 Raith Rovers: Connolly’s first-half double gave the Championship visitors a comfortable lead against their League Two hosts before the midfielder completed his hat-trick in the 66th minute.
