The Salvation Army has announced the appointment of Majors Larry and Julie Feist to the Eureka Corps.

Larry Feist was commissioned into The Salvation Army in 1991. He served as a single officer in several locations across the country before meeting and marrying his wife in 2003. He served in the Southern California Division while his wife attended the College for Officer Training.

Julie Feist was appointed as an officer of the Salvation Army in 2006.

The Feists served together in Lake Havasu City, Ariz., for eight years; in Oroville, Calif., for five years; a brief stint in Longview, Wash.; and then four years in Kalispell, Mont., before arriving in Eureka on July 3.

In 2011, they both graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in leadership and ethics from Nazarene Bible College.

“When we come to a new position, we immediately settle into our community and get involved in its life,” said Julie Feist.

“Our goal is always to love our people and do our best to make a difference in the lives of others,” Feist added.
