ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) – After reviewing the latest forecast data, the First Alert Weather Team released a FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAY.

Widespread rainfall amounts of 1 to 6 inches are expected across most of Central Louisiana between now and Monday morning. There is also a chance for isolated to scattered precipitation totals of 6-10+ inches of rain for parts of the region (shaded in yellow).

This large amount of rain could cause major problems on the roads on Saturday. The consequences are expected to be even greater due to the already saturated soil. Some locations in Cenla have already received more than five centimeters of rain in the past seven days.

The Weather Prediction Center also agrees with our forecast. They raised the local flood risk to a moderate risk on Saturday, which is a level 3 out of 4 on the local flood risk scale.

A Floods WATCH will come into effect on November 9 for almost all of Cenla. Even if you’re not under Flood Watch, you could still be affected by the widespread rain.
