Christian McCaffrey will make his long-awaited 2024 NFL regular season debut in Week 10.

The San Francisco 49ers running back is out with Achilles tendon and calf injuries, but the time has come for one of the most popular fantasy football draft picks to take the field.

McCaffrey’s first opponent is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who have allowed 4.9 yards per carry this season.

CeeDee Lamb will also be on the field for the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, but his production could take a hit with Dak Prescott out.

Below is a look at all the major injury news related to Week 10 fantasy football games.

Christian McCaffrey makes season debut

49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan deemed McCaffrey “good to go” on Friday afternoon, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

49ers HC Kyle Shanahan said RB Christian McCaffrey is “good to go” for Sunday’s game against Tampa despite the team listing him as questionable due to his calf and Achilles injuries.

McCaffrey was a popular No. 1 overall pick in fantasy football drafts, but injuries kept him off the field for nine weeks.

He will be a must-start player in all formats of fantasy football leagues, no matter how rusty he looks after half a season off.

Tampa Bay presents a strong matchup for the 49ers running game as it has allowed more than 100 rushing yards in seven of nine games.

The Bucs just got mauled for 244 rushing yards by the Baltimore Ravens in Week 7. That’s a good sign for McCaffrey and Co. on Sunday.

McCaffrey may not be at his best right away, but in terms of matchups he returns to the court for, this is one that suits him and could allow him to put up a high fantasy point total.

CeeDee Lamb will play for Cowboys

CeeDee Lamb is available to play in the Cowboys’ NFC East battle with the Philadelphia Eagles.

However, his fantasy football impact could be diminished due to Dallas’ quarterback situation. Cooper Rush starts in place of Dak Prescott.

The Cowboys are 5-1 in Rush’s six career starts, but only once has he thrown for more than 235 yards.

Lamb earned 49 targets in Rush’s five starts during the 2022 season, but he only exceeded 80 receiving yards twice in that stretch.

Lamb’s impact in the leagues on a points-per-reception basis won’t diminish, as he had at least five receptions in all of Rush’s starts in 2022.

He is expected to take a hit in the standard leagues as the yardage production is not guaranteed there due to Rush’s arm and Philadelphia’s recent defensive performance.

The Eagles have held three of their last four opponents to under 200 yards, so it might not be Lamb’s most productive week of the season.
