BARNSTABLE — Superintendent Sara Ahern is pleased to announce that Jason Conetta has been named the new principal of Barnstable High School.

Conetta took office on July 1.

Conetta most recently served as principal of Barnstable Middle School, a position he has held since 2022. Prior to that role, Conetta served as principal of East Middle School in Brockton for three years and as assistant principal of Silver Lake Regional Middle School for four years. He also served for six years at Randolph High School as a math teacher, dean of students and assistant principal.

“I look forward to Mr. Conetta transitioning to our high school community,” said Superintendent Ahern. “He has been a phenomenal asset to the middle school and has the best interests of our students at heart. I am confident that his experience prepares him well to help Barnstable High School students thrive.”

Conetta holds a bachelor’s degree in human development from Rivier College and a master’s degree in educational administration from Emmanuel College.

“Becoming the principal of Barnstable High School has been an incredibly rewarding experience,” said Principal Conetta. “Throughout my career, I have always strived to maintain a ‘Yes, you can’ and ‘Never give up’ attitude. This is something I aim to bring to the students of Barnstable High School to give them a new perspective on life as they move forward.”
