Matt Damon caught in bomb scare at Greek bar

Matt Damon was the victim of a bomb threat while on vacation in Greece this weekend.

The 53-year-old Oscar winner is enjoying his holiday on the island of Mykonos with his wife, Luciana Barroso.

However, panic erupted on the island on Saturday after four beach bars were targeted by unnamed troublemakers who claimed to have planted bombs there.

The Daily Mail reports that the Mykonos police sub-directorate took “immediate action” after receiving an “anonymous email” claiming that bombs had been left in four bars.

A bar employee told Greek media outlet Protothema: “As soon as we received the alert from the police, we quickly turned down the music and calmly guided our customers to a safe place. It was a difficult situation, but we managed to maintain order.”

Footage posted on social media showed Matt among around 4,000 holidaymakers evacuated from one of the four bars.

While reports indicated that locals and holidaymakers remained calm after police ordered the venues to evacuate, the sudden mass outpouring of guests caused major traffic jams that affected half the island.

The Daily Mail added in its report: “Local police later confirmed the threat was a hoax.”

Matt, his wife Luciana and their children are said to have been holidaying in the Paraga area of Mykonos, one of the most popular holiday destinations for tourists on the sunny island.
