Off-duty Calcasieu Parish deputy involved in fatal crash, Louisiana State Police say

LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) – Louisiana State Police (LSP) are currently investigating a fatal crash involving an off-duty sheriff’s deputy, according to LSP Trooper Matt Gaspard.

Today around 4:50 p.m., State Police were notified of a three-vehicle crash on Nelson Road near Plantation Drive. One person was killed in the crash, Gaspard said.

According to Gaspard, an unmarked Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office vehicle driven by an off-duty deputy was involved in the crash.
