Tom Girardi again requests postponement of criminal trial. “He’s simply not ready to be tried.”

Tom Girardi’s lawyers have asked a federal judge to postpone next month’s criminal trial until October, citing an expansion of the government’s case to involve $25 million in financial transactions for his ex-wife Erika Jayne’s entertainment business.

In the motion, defense lawyers argued that the government, which last month sought to introduce such evidence at trial, was expanding its case beyond the “four corners” of the 2023 indictment that initially alleged Girardi stole $15 million in four client cases.
