Fight Me: 14-inch is the best gaming laptop and these are the only Prime Day gaming laptop deals I would personally consider buying today

I’ll be honest, Best Buy broke my heart a little bit. Just a few days ago, it had the mother of all 14-inch gaming laptop deals, with the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 OLED — our absolute favorite compact gaming laptop — on sale for just $1,100. Unfortunately, as of Monday, the Zephyrus G14 was back down to $1,600. It still isn’t bad for such a gorgeous gaming laptop, featuring an aluminum unibody chassis, exceptional performance, and striking looks. But it’s not great.

What’s pretty awesome, though, is how many other Prime Day deals there are on 14-inch gaming laptops. The compact gaming laptop is the ultimate portable laptop that will still deliver top-of-the-line frame rates, and without any really tangible downsides.

And, for me, the 14-inch laptop is really the only size I could reasonably consider buying. Unless I’m really looking for a desktop replacement with a large 18-inch screen.

These are the best of the bunch, and while the Asus G14 is no longer getting a big discount, it’s still an absolutely worthwhile purchase. The $1,150 Acer Predator 14, however, is arguably the best deal of the bunch if you’re just looking for raw performance, as it packs the RTX 4070 GPU.

But the one I would like In fact Buy? Well, it would be the HP Omen Transcend 14 at $1,280. It’s not the most powerful, nor the cheapest, but its chassis is gorgeous and the OLED display is a real treat. A truly portable gaming laptop, with a beautiful aesthetic. During my review, I fell a little in love with it.

There’s also the Razer Blade 14, which I still have a soft spot for… but even with a steep discount, it’s $2,000 for an RTX 4060 Blade 14 gaming laptop, and it’s honestly very, very hard to recommend over any of the others.
