Impressionism is a distinctive art style that emerged in France in the late 19th century. Popularized by artists such as Claude Monet and Edgar Degas, Impressionism emphasized painting in nature, rather than in a studio, as well as thick paint and visible brushstrokes. Impressionists often attempted to capture the subtle differences in light and shadow at different times of day.

On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of Impressionism, CroisiEurope is launching a new river cruise itinerary on the Seine.

The five-night voyage, which sails round-trip from Paris, launched this month and will run until the end of August. It is offered on board MS Seine Princess and MS Renoir

The river cruise company takes its passengers through the same landscapes that inspired impressionists like Monet, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Alfred Sisley and Frédéric Bazille. Departing from Paris, travelers will stop in Poissy, Mantes-La-Jolie, Honfleur and Rouen before returning to the French capital.
