MARTA suspends rail service at Indian Creek due to bridge construction

ATLANTAMARTA will temporarily suspend rail service to Indian Creek Station on December 8 and 9 as part of an ongoing project to install a new pedestrian bridge and improve accessibility to the station. During this time, the Blue Line terminates at Kensington Station, with MARTA offering bus shuttles to transport passengers between Indian Creek and Kensington Stations.

The closure is part of the Indian Creek Station Rehabilitation Project, an initiative aimed at improving safety, accessibility and the overall customer experience at the station. The new pedestrian bridge, which will span the railway lines, is designed to improve access for pedestrians and cyclists and will support a future road network to the north of the station.

Additional station upgrades under the rehabilitation project include a complete clean-up, floor replacement, west plaza renovation, bus line improvements and fare gate improvements.

Although train service is suspended, parking remains available at Indian Creek Station. MARTA encourages passengers to park at Kensington Station during the construction period for easy access. All bus routes that typically serve Indian Creek will operate on their usual schedule.

Riders are advised to visit MARTA’s official website, itsmarta.com, for updates on the project and details of the service changes.
