The National Medical Commission (NMC) has issued a notice to all medical colleges/institutes having a valid letter of permission (LoP) for MBBS admissions. The authority has directed all institutes to fill their details/details on the NMC portal – msmer.nmc.org.in for the annual return as required under the NMC Act, 2019. According to the notification, the deadline for filing the statement the required fee is November 15. NMC further emphasized that colleges that do not register their eligibility with NMC will not be allowed to declare undergraduate MBBS seats.

The official notification reads: “Submission of duly filled annual declaration form of each college on the NMC portal is mandatory for annual renewal of permission for UG-MBBS seats. No seat will be awarded if the Board/Institution fails to submit the Annual Statement within the specified period.”

Moreover, the username and password for each medical institution have already been communicated to the nodal officers of the respective colleges. The Commission has provided a self-explanatory user guide on the portal to guide institutions in uploading data.

Moreover, the official notification also proposed additional information included in the Annual Declaration Portal for AY 2025-26. These include:

-Upload the Letter of Recognition/Continuation of Recognition grant to Medical Colleges by MCI/NMC from the grant of authority to establish the Medical College – (annual renewal issued for five years immediately after the LOP for establishment does not require upload ).

-Last renewal letter issued for 2024-2025.

-College data in the portal must contain the name of the competent authority as stated on the portal.

Also, the medical colleges have to upload the details of the videography of the examination conducted and FORM C.

Please note that all information on the portal must be factual and there should be no discrepancies between the data submitted to other NMC boards. Once submitted, colleges cannot edit their information.

“All medical colleges/institutes are informed that the requisite fee of Rs 3.54 Lakh (including 18% GST) has to be paid online only through the payment gateway of the portal along with the application for permission for admission of seats for UG courses for the year 2025 -26. No payment method other than the payment gateway is acceptable,” the notice said.
