Second man charged over evacuation of ‘suspicious item’ from Clydebank Tower

A second man has been charged after a tower block in Clydebank was evacuated following the discovery of a “suspicious item”.

Residents of Overtoun Court were ordered to leave the building on October 28 after police made the discovery during their investigation into the death of a 58-year-old man.

Specialist bomb squad officers later detonated the object in a controlled explosion and a 26-year-old man appeared in court charged with a firearms offence.

A 41-year-old man has also been charged with a firearms offense following the incident and is due to appear in court on Monday.
