A streamer has turned RDR 2 into a high-speed nightmare

Red Dead Redemption 2 isn’t the friendliest of places at the best of times, but streamer Blurbs has turned Rockstar’s open-world western into glorious, glorious chaos. Inspired by Australian comedian Tom Walker, who did something similar in GTA 4Blurbs has created a PC mod where every carriage runs at turbo speed.

The results are nothing short of spectacular, even more so than in GTA 4. For starters, at least GTA 4’s cars stick to the road, but Red Dead Redemption 2 is a maze of roads and dirt roads that could make you drive a horse encounter. -drawn carriage anywhere. And so, while Blurbs tries to play the game right, things go horribly and hilariously wrong.

The effect even applies to main character Arthur Morgan’s own carriages and to some (but not all) of the horses. So as Arthur and his gang roll towards a mansion, they are suddenly and fatally thrown against the wall. And while Blurbs-as-Arthur is praised for his finesse, the carriage he was following shoots into the air and lands in a lake.

And Sint-Denis? Thanks to the enormous amount of traffic, the carriages race through the streets like missiles, destroying those who cross their path. We’re just going to pretend that those virtual horses come out of frame and wander away, bewildered but no worse for wear. You can watch Blurb’s fast-paced shenanigans below.

This isn’t the first time Blurbs has turned the word on Red Dead Redemption 2. They previously tweaked Red Dead Redemption 2 to include every single NPC, even those in cutscenes, completely drunk. Blurbs has also brought chaos to Skyrim and towards the end of the video their chat-to-NPC mod comes to RDR 2.
