RIO FERDINAND has sent a touching personal video message to Manchester United new signing Leny Yoro.

The Red Devils have beaten Real Madrid to the signing of the centre-back after Yoro signed a five-year contract.

The transfer is worth around £144,000-a-week after United saw a £52million bid accepted by Lille.

Yoro is set to wear Nemanja Vidic’s legendary number 15 shirt after completing his move to Old Trafford.

But it was Vidic’s former partner Ferdinand who was called in to help make the transfer happen.

Ferdinand, 45, sent a video message to Yoro after confirming his signing, which the young man loved.

Ferdinand filmed himself saying: “Leny! Leny! Leny! How are you, bro? Listen, congratulations. Welcome to Manchester United, mate.”

Ferdinand likes Yoro’s game and compared him to Arsenal’s William Saliba.

“If you are looking for Leny Yoro, please accept and come to Manchester United,” Ferdinand said on his Vibe with Five podcast.

“Manchester United, please make the offer and accept it, because this kid, I think his potential is as high as anyone at the moment, including Saliba.”

And United fans were delighted with their former defender’s heartfelt message.

One fan account wrote: “THIS IS SO BEAUTIFUL!”

While another said: “Rio, you are an absolute legend. I can’t wait to see this kid play!”

A third added: “Rio ‘Secret Agent’ Ferdinand.”

Yoro has been promised that he will be able to continue his development with regular game time at Old Trafford.

The 18-year-old revealed his delight at completing the transfer, saying: “Signing for a club with the stature and ambition of Manchester United so early in my career is an incredible honour.

“Since my first conversations with the club, they have set out a clear plan for how I can progress in Manchester as part of this exciting project, and have shown great care towards me and my family.”
