People are losing it as The Simpsons revives the fan-favorite character who was last seen 27 years ago

The Simpsons did something insane with a revived character who hasn’t appeared on screen in nearly three decades and fans freaked out.

The latest episode of the hit US family cartoon series aired on Sunday, October 6 and showed the early years of Marge and Homer’s relationship.

Entitled The Yellow Lotus, This is where fans were shocked to see a fan-favorite character who hadn’t been seen since season nine in the episode Real estate bites.

27 years after his appearance, he was happily brought back and given a bit more backstory.

Initially, he was Marge’s co-worker at Red Blazer Realty and voiced by Hank Azaria.

In the latest episode of The Simpsons, however, it was revealed that Marge had met him years before.

It was when the family took a trip to the Drooping Dandelions resort where Marge met her former classmate, and it showed that they met in connection with a 10-year-old timeshare.

It all started when she was pregnant with Bart.

She and Homer met the character while on vacation, and he tricked them into a timeshare deal by offering a free stereo to Homer, who quickly said yes.

When they meet again, Marge explodes and tells him how he affected the couple and then the unthinkable happens: he dies.

Of course, the character is none other than Nick Callahan, the cunning real estate agent.

In the episode, he is killed by an otter out for blood.

Fans who watched the episode quickly realized that they had seen Nick before and were shocked when he met his untimely end.

Someone commented: “When I heard Kent saying his name I thought no way.”

Another echoed: “IKR? He was the perfect choice, in terms of work and personality. From an episode that *already* gave us Gil & Cookie, I always wanted it to be explored and explored again as well.”

Redditors also noticed his revival and were devastated when he was killed off, with one person writing, “First Larry, now Nick Callahan?! When will this show stop killing off beloved characters?!

Another wrote: “RIP Nick Callahan.”

Earlier this year, the show killed off a much-loved character named Larry the Barfly.

Larry regularly drank at Moe’s Tavern and died in the same place where he spent most of his days, leaving the episode to focus on life, the meaning of friendship, and making meaningful connections.

Co-executive producer Tim Long apologized for Larry’s death after fans expressed their love for the character.

He told TMZ that he feels sorry for the fans who are upset about the death, but added that he was pleased with the reaction because it shows how beloved the show still is to this day.
