Mamie Laverock Shares Message as Family Shuts Down GoFundMe Page

Mamie Laverock’s family has closed their GoFundMe page two months after the When the heart calls you The actress suffered a “medical emergency.”

An update to the GoFundMe page posted Wednesday, July 17, by Laverock’s mother, Nicole Rockmann, and stepfather, Rob Compton, included a message that appeared to come from the actress herself, in which she wrote of her “gratitude” to those who had contributed to the fund.

“Thank you so much. I don’t even know what to say. My heart is full,” the 20-year-old’s message read.

“Thank you again. I have no words to describe my gratitude. I love you guys. Thank you,” she continued, ending with “GRANNY.”

Rockmann and Compton also thanked fans and noted the family’s decision to end the social media fundraiser.

“The Fund is now closed. Please know how much you have helped this family in the most difficult circumstances. Thank you for your thoughtfulness. Warmth, Nicole and Rob,” they wrote in the July 17 update on the online fundraiser, which has reached $39,022 of its $30,000 goal (in Canadian dollars).

The move comes after the actress, who fell from a hospital balcony in Canada in May, celebrated her 20th birthday on July 8.

“Grandma rolled over onto her stomach, stood up and held on to me… at that point we realized we could have our first hug,” read the post, which was written alongside a photo of the July 9 hug in the actress’ hospital room.

“It’s a miracle,” Rockmann told PEOPLE of the moment she and her daughter were able to share a hug.

Rockmann also shared some details about his daughter’s recovery on Laverock’s Facebook page on June 26.

“Thank you for your healing messages for Grandma,” she began. “Grandma has survived her injuries, but her road to recovery will be long. I will soon be setting up a mailbox for all your cards and wishes.”

The family had previously shared updates about Laverock’s recovery on the GoFundMe page, which was created after the actress was taken to a Winnipeg hospital due to a “medical emergency” on May 11. She was later transferred to a Vancouver hospital.

They later revealed that Laverock had been undergoing intensive treatment for two weeks in the Canadian city after she was “escorted from a secure unit of the hospital and taken to a balcony where she fell from the fifth floor” on May 26.

“She has suffered life-threatening injuries, has undergone multiple major surgeries and is currently on life support,” the message read. “We are all devastated, in shock, at this extremely difficult time.”

In a further update, the family later said Laverock’s body was “shattered” during the incident.

“She has undergone two 11-hour surgeries with two doctors working on her, one three-hour surgery and another one today. We have nothing but gratitude to the doctors and nurses who have been exemplary in her care since May 26,” one message read.

“Grandma is doing well compared to when she arrived. She is doing well because she survived these major surgeries. She is enduring terrible pain and continues to not give up,” the message added.

“We can only hold on to the miracles of each day and continue to thank everyone for their prayers and marvel at the miracles in her story. Our daughter loves her life and loves her family and fights hard every day,” the update concluded.

Laverock played the role of Rosaleen Sullivan in nine episodes of When the heart calls you from 2014 to 2023. Prior to his stint on Hallmark Channel, Laverock had his first professional role in 2012 This means war with Reese Witherspoon, Chris Pine and Tom Hardy.
