Inside the Late Ivana Trump’s Lavish, Versailles-Inspired Upper East Side Townhouse Is Up for Sale for .5 Million

Ivana Trump was known for her glamorous lifestyle, so it’s no surprise that her Upper East Side townhouse, on the market for $19.5 million, is just as opulent and grand as that of Donald Trump’s late wife.

Built in 1879, the Adamesque home sits on a coveted block in the affluent neighborhood, just one block from Central Park, and features unique gold and black screen doors that welcome you into the five-bedroom, six-bathroom home.

Spread over six floors and spanning 8,725 square feet, the home also features an additional 700 square feet of outdoor space, a rare commodity in New York City.

But it’s inside that Ivana’s style can be appreciated, with bold reds on the walls, sumptuous gold moldings and draped four-poster beds.

As you enter a grand reception room with a crystal chandelier and custom gold paneling, this style is immediately apparent, with a powder room on site and an enclosed elevator serving each floor.

There is also a media room with an adjacent kitchen and home office, as well as access to a 19×20 garden patio, while in the basement there is a contemporary Swedish sauna, laundry room and plenty of storage.

No luxury home would be complete without a wide, curved staircase and this one takes you immediately to the first floor.

Billed as an entertainment level, the first floor features four chandeliers, soaring nearly 11-foot ceilings and a light-filled room with “exceptional woodwork and sumptuous fabrics…a gilded marble fireplace and ornate crown molding.”

The dining room on the same floor features a bay window “that overlooks the private interior courtyard, as well as custom built-in cabinets,” while the main kitchen is tucked away from the dining room and a small breakfast room offers more intimate dining options with views of the garden.

The master suite occupies the entire second floor, with a south-facing bedroom “adorned by a meticulously restored mural and a private terrace accessed by three charming French doors.”

It features an en suite bathroom with pink onyx marble and gold hardware, as well as an oversized soaking tub and floor-to-ceiling mirrors.

The upper floor also includes a private office and library, complete with an onyx and gold fireplace and decorated with leopard-print wallpaper.

On the third floor are three bedrooms, with oak paneling and chic walk-in closets. One has its own private bathroom, while the other two, both overlooking the treetops of 64th Street, share a large full bathroom.

The top floor features a huge guest bedroom with a full bathroom, as well as two adjoining bedrooms, called staff quarters, which also share a full bathroom.

The home is on the market for $19.5 million, but the price has dropped twice in two years, after originally listing for $26.5 million in 2022. Last year, the asking price was reduced by $4 million before this recent $3 million drop.

Ivana died at the age of 73 After falling down the stairs of her New York apartment, she suffered “blunt force injuries.” New York police said there did not appear to be “foul play” involved in her death.

Ivana married Donald in 1977 and the couple divorced in 1992, but they remained close until his death despite a contentious divorce. She raised their three children, Don Jr., Ivanka, and Eric, in the home.
