Report: Harry Kane not considering retiring with England after EURO 2024

After a difficult time at EURO 2024, Bayern Munich forward Harry Kane is intent on getting back to work, for club and country.

The nearly 31-year-old, who shared the tournament’s Golden Boot despite injury problems, is far from retiring from international football. And he has taken inspiration from a global football icon.

Excerpt from the Telegraph, via @iMiaSanMia:

Harry Kane is unlikely to consider retiring from international duty and will instead look to Lionel Messi for inspiration as he seeks to bounce back from another final defeat to England.

Sources close to Kane have completely dismissed this theory and the idea that he could consider retiring from international football, pointing to the fact that he has just completed his best-ever goalscoring season with Bayern, in which he scored 44 goals.

Although “heartbroken” by the latest final defeat, Kane is expected to be even more determined to help England secure their first major tournament success at the 2026 World Cup and beyond.

Messi’s quest for World Cup glory finally came to fruition in 2022, when the Argentina superstar was 35. Kane will hope he doesn’t have to wait that long.
