Family vacations are supposed to be fun, not stressful.

But this OP seems stressed because of the payment terms that the other families had agreed on.

He says the way they arranged things was unfair and that they don’t understand mathematics.

But is it really that bad? Read on and tell us.

Soon we will go on a family vacation.

There will be 6 families, ranging from 2 to 6 people. 20 people in total.

We will do some activities.

Some families suggest a single payment method.

Some families insist that children do not pay and that the total expenses be divided between the adults.

This way, a couple with 4 children will pay the same price as a couple with 1 child, or a single mother with 2 children will pay half of what a couple with 1 child will pay (both families have 3 people), and so on.

This is pretty obvious and certainly not fair.

OP tries to explain, but no one agrees with him.

I’m the only one who objected and argued/fought a few days before we left.

Other families don’t want to argue or don’t understand the problem/math.

I tried to explain that they are confusing children who do not pay, because their parents pay for them, with children who are free, which is not the case.

He feels like an idiot for being the only one opposing it.

I tried to introduce them to mathematics, I tried to give them other examples. Nothing worked.

I feel like I’m in an episode of the Twilight Zone.

The two families that insist will benefit the most, but I don’t want to think that they are dishonest.

I really think they don’t understand.

Am I an idiot? And how can I make them understand?

Let’s find out what others have to say.

Come on man, the important thing is that everyone enjoys the holidays!
