The family of BPD and Lee Curtis Vanderbilt are still searching for answers to his mysterious disappearance

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – A Birmingham family and the Birmingham Police Department need your help finding a man who has been missing for more than two years.

Lee Curtis Vanderbilt was last seen on July 20, 2022.

His fiancée Nikira Radcliff says she can’t move on and just wants to know what happened. Above all, she is convinced that the love of her life did not just show up and disappear.

Birmingham Police Officer Truman Fitzgerald says Vanderbilt spoke to both his fiancée and mother almost daily and that his sudden disappearance doesn’t add up.

The agents still don’t give up. Officer Fitzgerald says detectives asked earlier this week to bring attention to this case.

Vanderbilt was last seen wearing a black shirt with camouflage sleeves, camouflage shorts and Nautica sandals.

Even if you don’t know what happened to Vanderbilt, if you know the names of the people he interacted with or even the different interests he has, that information could help police get answers from his family.

“We need names, we need information, we even need some background information on Lee that Lee’s fiancée or family may not know. By knowing everything we can about the victim, detectives can put all the pieces of the puzzle together,” said Officer Truman Fitzgerald.

If you know anything at all, BPD asks that you call them or Crime Stoppers and share what you know.
