Filmmaker Aditya Dhar is gearing up for his next high-octane project: a gripping spy thriller titled Dhurandhar. While his previous mythological adventure, The immortal Ashwatthamais currently on hold, Dhar is wasting no time. Dhurandhar features a star-studded cast, bringing together for the first time Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan and Arjun Rampal.

According to a report by Pinkvilla, this action-packed thriller is set in the world of Indian intelligence agencies. The shooting will begin on July 25, 2024! The first part of the shoot will take place in Thailand, a key location for the interactions of intelligence networks. The source also revealed, “It is a film set during the golden age of Indian intelligence agencies, coinciding with the rise of R&AW. The team is coming together for the international leg, followed by schedules in India and the UAE.” The storyline is said to be inspired by real-life events from the chronicles of R&AW.

While no official title has been announced yet, the actors recently got together for a photoshoot. “Ranveer is excited to venture into the world of espionage with Aditya Dhar. Sanjay Dutt plays the antagonist, while Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan and Arjun Rampal will represent the Indian intelligence apparatus,” the source said.

To ensure the authenticity of the characters, all actors underwent thorough appearance tests to match the appearance and behavior of real agents. The source enthusiastically said: “After the phenomenal success of UriThis is the perfect sequel for director Aditya Dhar. He is deeply fascinated by the world of spies and strongly believes that this film will resonate with audiences across the world. Ranveer is equally thrilled to have Dhar back on set. With a shoot spanning six months, the film is expected to hit the theatres in the second half of 2025.”

Aditya Dhar and his brother Lokesh Dhar will produce Dhurandhar under their banner, B62 Studios. However, they are also collaborating with a major studio for the project.

Reports suggest a massive budget and unprecedented scale of filming for DhurandharThe film will be largely shot in India and abroad, hinting at a global storyline or action sequences set in unique international settings.
