Rihanna fueled retirement rumors while deejaying at a Fenty Beauty event in her native Barbados.

While speaking in front of a packed crowdwho was there to celebrate the opening of a Fenty store, the singer said, “Music was the thing that attracted attention, but God had other plans for me.”

While the “Diamonds” hitmaker previously promised to release new music going forward, fans of the singer took her message as a sign that her retirement from the recording industry could come sooner rather than later.

“I was able to create in ways that were very genuine and heartfelt, organic and authentic to the things I love. So it doesn’t even feel like a job,” the “Love on the Brain” hitmaker, who wore a brown ruffled midi dress, continued in her speech.

After a video of the event began circulating on social media, fans of the singer were quick to comment on her possible retirement.
