Tennis star Barbora Krejcikova furious over ‘unprofessional’ comments on her physical appearance

The former world number 2 acknowledged that this was not the first time she had encountered such comments in the sports media, but felt compelled to speak out on this occasion. She continued: “This is not the first time something like this has happened in the sports world. I have often chosen not to say anything, but I believe it is time to address the need for respect and professionalism in sports media.”

Krejcikova also expressed concern that comments like this take away from the essence of sport and distract fans from the skill, dedication and resilience that athletes bring to the field. “These moments distract from the true essence of sport and the dedication that all athletes bring to the field,” she stated. “I love tennis very much and I want it to be represented in a way that honors the commitment we make to compete at this level.”
