Wellsville woman appeals sentence for drugs and drive-by shooting | News, sports, jobs

LISBON – A Wellsville woman has been sentenced to more than 12.5 years in prison on multiple charges related to more than a dozen drug charges, and her involvement in a drive-by shooting last year is challenging her sentence.

Jordyn Price, 27, McKee Road, recently appealed to the Seventh District Court of Appeals the sentences she received in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court ordering several terms to be served consecutively, one after the other , instead of all in a row. once.

The majority of the prison sentence stemmed from an incident on April 13, 2023, in which she drove a co-suspect past a victim’s home while he fired multiple shots into the home from the vehicle, resulting in her receiving a prison sentence of four to six years for complicity and an additional mandatory three years for the weapons specification. For the remaining four charges, she received additional prison sentences of 18 months, 24 months and two of 12 months, bringing the total to 12 years and six months. State prison officials could also add another two years if they deem it necessary for the aiding and abetting conviction.

One of the drug charges included third-degree felonies of aggravated trafficking in drugs and two counts of aggravated possession of drugs, fourth-degree felonies of trafficking in heroin, possession of heroin and two counts of aggravated trafficking in drugs, fifth-degree felonies of trafficking in persons. in cocaine and possession of cocaine and two counts of aggravated drug possession, along with a specification for forfeiture of money in a drug case for possession of $6,245.

First-degree felony counts of trafficking in fentanyl-related compounds and possession of fentanyl-related compounds were dismissed in that case.

One count stemmed from Price’s alleged possession of methamphetamine in an amount equal to or greater than bulk but less than five times bulk on September 1, 2023. The other counts occurred on February 2, 2024 and involved methamphetamine in an amount equal to or greater than the bulk. , but less than five times the bulk, heroin in an amount equal to or greater than 1 gram but less than five grams, cocaine in an amount equal to or greater than 1 gram but less than five grams, and MDMA, oxycodone and xylazine.

In another case from 2024, Price had entered guilty pleas to third-degree felony counts of trafficking in cocaine, possession of cocaine, trafficking in fentanyl-related compounds and possession of fentanyl-related compounds and fifth-degree felony counts of drug trafficking, with charges of aggravated drug trafficking, aggravated drug possession and misdemeanor possession of drugs dismissed.

The charges all stemmed from an incident on April 6, 2024, and involved cocaine in an amount equal to or greater than 20 grams but less than 27 grams, an amount of fentanyl equal to or greater than five grams but less than 10 grams and xylazine.

Price also pleaded guilty to third-degree felonies of illegally transporting drugs of abuse onto the grounds of a specified government facility, aggravated trafficking in drugs and aggravated possession of drugs, and specifications for forfeiture of money from a drug case. Charges of possession of a fentanyl-related compound, possession of cocaine and two counts of aggravated possession of drugs and one count of drug possession were dismissed.

According to the indictment, Price brought drugs onto the grounds of a detention center on December 11, 2023. On December 10 and 11, 2023, Price prepared to sell and possessed a quantity of methamphetamine equal to or greater than five times bulk, but less than 50 times bulk, along with $2,150.

Price also pleaded guilty to charges from a 2023 case of third-degree burglary and misdemeanor theft for remaining at a property in Avondale, East Liverpool, to commit theft after the homeowner told him to leave when he arrived on May 1 left for work in 2023.

In addition to the prison sentences, Price was given mandatory fines totaling $45,000 and her driver’s license was suspended for five years. She was ordered to forfeit $6,245 and $2,150 and given credit for at least 165 days already served in jail.
