MP woman killed, legs cut off for silver anklets

In a gruesome incident in Sehore district of Madhya Pradesh, a 75-year-old woman, Motan Bai, was brutally attacked by robbers who cut off her legs to steal her silver anklets and left her in a drain, where they bled to death.

The incident took place on Friday evening in Guradia Rupchand village near Ashta, about 90 km from Bhopal. Her family, alarmed when she did not return, looked for her but could not find her in the dark. Her son later discovered her mutilated body on Saturday morning. Police, who are investigating the scene, suspect that several attackers were involved.

This tragedy mirrors similar incidents in the region, including a case in 2014 where a pregnant woman was murdered in a similar manner. Other cases of murder due to silver anklets have also been reported, highlighting a disturbing pattern in Madhya Pradesh.
