Grace admits Love Island exit was ‘brutal’ and shares update on relationship with Reuben

LOVE Island star Grace Jackson has admitted she was shocked to be evicted alongside Reuben Collins just days before the finale.

The couple were unexpectedly eliminated at the end of a match after the audience deemed them the least compatible.

And while Grace, 25, admits her coming out was “brutal,” she’s looking forward to the future with Reuben after an eventful trip to the villa with Joey Essex.

In her first interview after the show, Grace told us: “100% it was a shock, you have to expect the unexpected.

“They say that all the time. And I feel like we really start to take it seriously when things happen that we least expect.

“I think it was the last question of the game and we were all really tired. We were out in the sun and Josh got the message.

“I thought it was going to be like the islanders gathering around a campfire and throwing themselves into some kind of dump. But it was literally like saying, ‘You have the least voice, pack your bags and leave the villa.’ It’s brutal. Honestly, it is.”

Despite the initial shock, Grace said she wasn’t too worried, telling us: “Whether I made it to the final or not, I was really happy to be there.

“I think ultimately I found what I was looking for. I really enjoyed my time with Reuben. So whether it was because I left when I did or because I made it to the final, it wasn’t a big deal in that sense.

“I had found what I wanted so I was ready to go at any time.”

The couple are now looking to take their romance further, with Grace saying things are going “really, really well”.

“We’re planning date nights. I’m going to go meet the rest of his family. He’s going to come see my friends and family and make it work,” she explained.

“He’s in London, I’m in Manchester. But I’m hoping to move to London soon anyway.

“I’m really excited to be able to play outside with him.”

The live finale of Love Island will air on Monday 29 July on ITV2 and ITVX

Love Island, series 11 – feuds in the villa

No edition of Love Island is complete without its fair share of drama – and season 11 is no exception. Here’s a look back at some of the most heated feuds so far.

  • Joey Essex and Samantha Kenny: Samantha entered the villa on day one and was initially paired with Sam Taylor. However, Samantha was ‘stolen’ by Joey, the first bombshell of season 11. She was ‘dumped’ on day 16 – the make-up artist said she was rudely snubbed by Joey in the villa – although the storyline never aired.
  • Mathilde Draper & Jess White: While Matilda arrived as a bombshell on Day 12, Jess was part of the original lineup. The two clashed at Casa Amor, due to Jess’ frustration that Matilda was talking to new hunk Hugo Godfroy – who Jess had previously kissed.
  • Harriet Blackmore and Jess White: The two women were caught in a love triangle for much of their time on the show. The couple feuded over Ronnie Vint, 27, from Greenwich, who ended up being dumped along with Harriett.
