ALOR SETAR: A 15-year-old boy is feared to have drowned while trying to save his younger sister from drowning in an incident in Pantai Cenang, Langkawi, on Saturday (July 27).

Langkawi Deputy Police Chief Shariman Ashari said police were alerted to the incident at around 3.05pm. The victim, Muhammad Izzham Hakimie Azizi, is believed to have drowned while trying to save his younger sister.

He said the group, comprising Muhammad Izzham Hakimie, his brother-in-law, two sisters and five friends, went to the beach around 2pm to celebrate his sister’s birthday. After the celebration, the victim, his younger sister and two friends went swimming.
