Sophie Willan has revealed she was once caught having sex in the Blue Peter Garden during a boozy night out in Manchester.

The Ludwig actress, 37, admitted having a drunken romp outside the BBC studios in Media City, Salford, before being interrupted by security guards.

Two-time BAFTA award winner Sophie explained that she thought a ‘big bush’ in the BBC garden was a ‘good place’ to have sex before the couple were caught.

When asked on Never Mind The Buzzcocks about the strangest place she’d ever had sex, she confessed: ‘The Blue Peter Garden.

‘It was a full moon, I had drunk a lot of Guinness. There was a large bush that we thought would be a good spot.

‘The security came around on those little scooters and said, ‘We can see you all in the studios on CCTV’. I never even got a badge.”

The Alma’s Not Normal star also confessed to ‘robbing a Greggs’ during another boozy night out.

She said: ‘The naughtiest thing I’ve ever done was rob a Greggs van. We were quite drunk and really hungry.

“A guy was unloading the van, so we each took one box.”

It comes after Sophie revealed her BBC Two comedy Alma’s Not Normal will not return for a third series.

The sitcom drama series first aired in April 2020 and follows the life of Alma as she tries to get her life back on track after a recent breakup.

However, according to TV Zone, the show is developing a one-off Christmas special that will serve as the final episode.

MailOnline has contacted representatives for comment.

In an emotional statement, creator, writer and star Sophie said: ‘I’ve been overwhelmed by the response to the show.

“People really seem to love and identify with the Nuthalls, which means a lot, and to have the opportunity to continue that story goes beyond what I could have hoped for.”

‘Considering the awards we’ve received, that’s a bit mind-boggling if I’m honest.

‘It is a real honor to be recognized in this way by BAFTA, Broadcast Awards, The Royal Television Society, colleagues and our audiences.

“I’m excited to be back in the writing room to see where Alma’s journey takes us next.”

Jon Petrie, BBC Director of Comedy Commissioning, said: “We couldn’t be prouder to be bringing the award-winning Alma’s Not Normal back for a second series.

‘It’s a privilege to work with Sophie and her brilliantly bold and original comedic mind.

‘Sophie embodies everything you can achieve with the unique possibilities that BBC Comedy can offer exciting new voices.’
