Tascosas senior running back Derrion Howard regains feeling in his arms and legs Friday after a terrifying accident

AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) – Derrion Howard, a senior running back for the Tascosa Rebel football team, is regaining feeling in his arms and legs after a scary game against Amarillo High.

The senior, who was tackled on a routine play, scored a touchdown on his run but landed awkwardly on the way down.

Howard received immediate care and was taken from Dick Bivins Stadium to the hospital with symptoms of no feeling in his arms and legs.

The Tascosa Football Booster released an update on Howard’s status since the accident, saying:

“The official word on Derrion is that he is doing well. They kept him in the intensive care unit for observation overnight. He has feeling in his arms and legs and is currently waiting for doctors to check him this morning. Once again we ask the rebel family to keep him and his family in your prayers.”

They also added, “If you can contribute anything to help this young man, please write ‘Family’ when (you) Venmo.

The Venmo is linked to a QR code that you can find here.

They encourage, like all of us in the Panhandle, to keep Derrion and his family in our thoughts as he recovers from the terrifying injury.
