Congress announces ‘Five guarantees’ for Maharashtra, Telangana’s ‘Six’ awaits-Telangana Today

Hyderabad: Never short of promises, the The Congress-led Maha Vikas Agadhi on Sunday released its manifesto for the Maharashtra polls, listing five guarantees, largely on the same lines as the six guarantees it had boasted before the Telangana assembly elections.

Interestingly, the manifesto was released by AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge, repeats many of the same promises made to the people of Telangana that brought the Congress to power here but could not be implemented even after eleven months in power.

According to the manifesto, the Maharashtra version of the Mahalakshmi scheme promises women Rs.3,000 per month. This was Rs.2,500 per month in Telangana, and it is still on paper.

The manifesto also ensures a caste census and the abolition of the 50 percent cap on reservations, in line with Tamil Nadu. The same census started after ten months Telanganabut faces stiff opposition from the people, especially as the Congress had collected applications from them in the name of its ‘Praja Palana’ programme, the applications of which were later found on the streets.

The Five Guarantees also include another unfulfilled promise from Telangana – the one where Congress promises the youth seeking employment a monthly allowance of Rs.4,000. Another repetition, again an unprocessed repetition, is the financial support to farmers. The Maharashtra version promises Rs.50,000 each to farmers who repay their loans on time. While the crop loan waiver in Telangana raised the hopes of 40 lakh farmers in Telangana, more than 18 lakh farmers are still walking around with officials literally begging for their loans to be waived.

The Rythu Bharosa scheme, which would replace Rythu Bandhu’s Rs.10,000 with Rs.15,000 per acre, and an allowance of Rs.12,000 for agricultural laborers, are both set to take off in Telangana, which in turn will leave farmers here in despair and misery floats. and back to greedy moneylenders.

The free bus service for women and health insurance are the only two launched in Telangana and replicated in Maharashtra.

Interestingly, despite massive protests across the state over his government’s failure to keep its promises, he is combative BRS Continuing to question the failed implementation of the Six Guarantees, Prime Minister A Revanth Reddy had brazenly claimed at a press conference in Mumbai on Saturday that all the Six Guarantees assured to the people of Telangana had been implemented!
