The Chase star Paul Sinha couldn’t resist taking an X-rated dig at his ITV co-stars at the Attitude Awards.

Paul is best known as The Sinnerman on the gameshow, while the other Chasers are given nicknames like The Dark Destroyer and The Beast.

The 54-year-old admitted his nickname was ‘shit’ but said he ‘dodged a bullet’ as he was the only gunner ‘not named after a sex toy’.

Organizing the event earlier this week at London’s Roundhouse, Paul said, according to The Sun: ‘A special welcome for those who work full time, because they won’t have the slightest idea who I am. So allow me to introduce myself. Yes, my name is Paul Sinha, but I’m better known as The Sinnerman.

‘It’s a stupid nickname. It doesn’t mean anything. I don’t care, I feel like I dodged a bullet, given the names of the other Gunners – The Governess, The Fox, The Menace, The Beast and The Dark Destroyer.

‘I’m the only Chaser not named after a sex toy. I have to tell you that hours of research went into this joke.

It appears the Chasers have no say over their nickname, with Darragh Ennis previously telling Subway he only found out while filming his first episode.

“I had no choice but to smile,” he recalled at The National Television Awards.

Darragh continued: ‘I was happy about it, but honestly I would have worn a chicken costume to be in that seat. They could have called me anything. I just wanted to appear on television.

Last month, viewers of The Chase were left gobsmacked by the ‘silliest question ever’ in the show’s 15 years.

Host Bradley Walsh asked: ‘Whose Twitter is (X) @kourtneykardashian?’

Looking somewhat perplexed by how obvious the answer was, contestant Kelly replied: ‘Kourtney Kardashian’.

Viewers were also confused, with many sharing their thoughts on social media.

“The Chase just asked a question about who Kourtney Kardashian is on social media like I really think that’s the dumbest question ever on that show,” user gcsedenis posted on X.

“That Kourtney Kardashian question was tough,” _Ce_Ce__ joked.

Along with Darragh and Paul, the Chasers’ current line-up is Mark Labbett, Shaun Wallace, Anne Hegerty and Jenny Ryan.

The Chase began airing on ITV in 2009 and has produced 17 seasons as well as celebrity charity spin-offs.

The quiz show sees contestants play against a professional quizzer – the Chaser – who tries to stop them from winning a cash prize.

The Chase is available to stream on ITVX.
