Apple Intelligence May Not Arrive With iOS 18

According to BloombergApple Intelligence’s Mark Gurman may not be part of the September public releases of iOS 18 and iPadOS 18.

According to Gurman, Apple plans to introduce Apple Intelligence with iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1, which will be released by October. It’s not all bad news: Beta versions of both systems, which contain some of the AI features, should be ready for developers as early as this week.

It’s a bit disappointing, though, as was my experience with the first iOS 18 beta. Many of the most exciting software features seem to require the power of Apple’s intelligence.

When the company’s AI version finally arrives, it may not offer everything announced at WWDC: an AI-powered Siri is expected to arrive later.
